Makboard Technology

How's the Ride?

It's like surfing the snow! Makboard is made of Makrolon, a high-tech polymer that's very durable under normal riding conditions. Makboard lets you carve, slash, and surf the mountain. Makboard goes where you take it – deep powder, corduroy, bumps, jumps and jibs. You can ride switch, butter the board or whatever you like.

Experience a feeling unlike any other snowboard.

Already the ultimate powder stick because of it's flexibility, the two holes in the tail of the Makboard allow for less resistance when making turns in the deep stuff, and naturally float the nose of the board.

When the snow gets firm, the Makboard delivers. Carving becomes effortless as the Makrolon holds a sharp edge similar to steel, offering stability and control, while the camber and flexibility of the board opens up new possibilities.

What's it Made Of?

Makrolon

Made of Bayer Makrolon "The High-Tech Material." The clear makrolon that the Makboard is made from is a durable and strong material that has been used in products such as fighter jet canopies, bullet-proof windows, goggle lenses, and helmets - just to mention a few.

Why the Holes?

The Makboard features tow concave channels on the bottom of the board which direct snow to the holes in the tail creating the patent pending "Flow-Thru" Technology. The reduces drag, increases speed, and makes the Makboard more stable while going straight than any other board.

Made in the USA

The Makboard was invented in the Town of Truckee, located on the north side of Lake Tahoe California, and the boards are made in a factory in Charlevoix Michigan. How many other companies build all of their boards in the USA?

Tuning & Maintenance

Most people are surprised to hear that you can hold an edge on a snowboard made out of high tech engineered resin, but the material is very strong. Sharpen the edges by hand just like a regular snowboard with a file and carve turns on the hard pack if you have the skill. Can you carve on ice? No. But what are you doing riding on ice anyway?

Bindings

The Makboard is compatible with all makes of traditional snowboard bindings and boots - no need for any special equipment. The binding inserts in the Makboard have been tested to be just as string as in traditional snowboards.

WARNING! Do NOT use liquid Loc-Tite when installing bindings. (Loc-Tite and Makrolon are NOT compatible).

Waxing

Like any snowboard, a little wax is a good thing for the Makboard. Unlike traditional snowboards, you should not hot wax the Makboard. Just use a little rub-on wax on the base, and you're good to go.

100% Recyclable
